About this tool
One page for everything you do to an image after you make it: block out the parts you don't want to show, decide whether to lay down a tiled watermark, then step into the editor to annotate — arrows, rectangles, ellipses, polygons, lines, text, image stickers and freehand all work, with full undo and redo. Redaction is a drag away: draw a box and the area is pixelated instantly, with an adjustable block size plus step-by-step undo and a one-click reset. The tiled watermark lets you set the text, font size, colour, opacity, rotation and spacing with a live preview on the right, repeating your text diagonally across the whole image at the angle you choose. Both steps are composited into a new base image before the annotation editor opens, so redaction, watermarks and annotations stack on the same picture and export together in one pass. Everything runs on the browser's own canvas and local scripts — your image never leaves your device.
How to use
- Drop in an image, or click to browse for one.
- Optional: drag a box over anything you need to redact — release to pixelate it. Adjust the block size, undo step by step, or reset entirely.
- Optional: switch on the tiled watermark, type your text and tune the font size, colour, opacity, rotation and spacing while watching the live preview.
- Click “Open annotation & watermark editor”, keep working in the Watermark or Annotate tab, then save as PNG, JPEG or WebP.
How do I pixelate or redact part of an image?
After uploading, press and drag directly on the image to box off the area you want to hide, then release — it is pixelated immediately. The “Block size” field controls how coarse the mosaic is; larger values hide more. Every redaction is remembered, so you can undo them one at a time or reset them all at once.
Can the watermark cover the whole image?
Yes. Turn on “Tiled watermark” and your text repeats across the entire image at the spacing and angle you set. Font size, colour, opacity, rotation and spacing are all adjustable with a live preview. For leak tracing or internal-document marking, use a small spacing and low opacity.
Can I use redaction, watermark and annotations together?
Yes. Redaction and the tiled watermark are composited into a new base image before the annotation editor opens, so all three stack on the same picture and export in one pass. Note that going back to re-redact or to change the watermark parameters clears the annotations already drawn in the editor — the interface warns you before you do it.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Redaction, the tiled watermark, annotations and encoding all happen in your browser using canvas and local scripts. The editor component also runs entirely on the client, with its cloud-image and remote-translation reporting features explicitly disabled, so your image never leaves your device.
What can I export, and can I undo mistakes?
You can save as PNG, JPEG or WebP, with the file named “your-file-annotated”. The annotation editor supports full undo and redo, and the redaction workbench supports step-by-step undo and reset. Export resolution is derived from your original image, so it is not blown up or crushed to an unexpected size.
