About this tool
Generate a bcrypt hash for any password with a selectable cost factor, or check whether a given password matches an existing bcrypt hash. Compatible with the standard bcrypt format used by Node.js and most frameworks. Everything runs locally in your browser — your password is never uploaded.
How to use
- Pick Hash to generate a hash, or Verify to check a password.
- Enter a password (and choose a cost factor for hashing).
- Copy the generated hash, or read the match result.
Is my password sent to a server?
No. Hashing and verification run entirely in your browser.
What does the cost factor mean?
It sets how many rounds of hashing are applied (capped at 15). Higher costs are slower but more resistant to brute-force attacks.
